Privacy policy
Last updated: 10 October 2026
In short. drivqo is a free educational app about how cars work. If you sign in, you use Google Sign-In, and we store your account and learning progress with Google Firebase so the app can work. We do not sell your information. The iOS waitlist is currently paused and no waitlist emails are being collected.
Who this policy covers
This policy describes the drivqo mobile app and the website at drivqo.app, both run by Drivqo (“we”, “us”). It explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. If a paid tier is added later, we will update this policy before that change affects what we collect.
Information we collect
We collect only what the app and the website need in order to work.
If you use the app without an account
You can read lessons without signing in. In that case, learning progress and saved lessons stay on your device. We do not receive that guest progress on our servers.
If you continue with Google
Sign-in is optional. If you choose “Continue with Google,” Google Sign-In and Firebase Authentication create your session. Google shares the account identifier, email address, and the name and profile photo on that Google account, when Google provides them. We do not receive your Google password.
We then store a small profile in Cloud Firestore, tied to your account:
- A display name, which starts from your Google name and can be the name you use in the app.
- The experience level and topic interests you pick during setup, if you pick them.
- Whether you finished that short setup.
- The time the profile was created and last updated.
Learning progress and saved lessons
If you are signed in, we store progress so you can continue a lesson later, including on another sign-in. For each lesson, that record is the lesson id, the page you reached, whether you finished it, a content version, and when the record was updated. If you save a lesson, we store the lesson id and when you saved it. These records are visible to your account, not to other learners.
The website iOS waitlist
The iOS waitlist is currently paused. This website is not collecting waitlist emails at this time.
Technical operation
Like most apps and websites, the services that host drivqo may process basic technical data needed to deliver the product, such as device or browser type, app version, and an IP address in server logs. We do not add a separate advertising or analytics tracker on top of that. We do not ask for your contacts, precise location, photos, or payment card number.
How we use information
- To sign you in and recognize your account.
- To save your place in a lesson, your saved lessons, and the preferences you set.
- To keep the app and website working, secure, and able to fix a problem you report.
- To meet a legal duty if one applies.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use it to build advertising profiles, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Google, Firebase, and other services
The app’s accounts and learning records are handled by Google services:
- Google Sign-In and Firebase Authentication sign you in.
- Cloud Firestore stores your profile, lesson progress, and saved lessons.
- Cloud Functions can delete your account data when you use delete account in the app.
Google processes that information under its own terms and privacy policy. You can read Google’s privacy policy and Firebase’s privacy and security information.
The website is hosted as a static site. The app account is separate from the website. The paused waitlist does not create an app account.
The app is offered through Google Play. If you download it, Google’s store policies also apply to the download itself.
Free today, and possible purchases later
drivqo is free to download and use. We do not currently sell subscriptions or in-app purchases, and we do not collect payment details.
We may add optional paid features later. If we do, Google Play will process the payment. We would receive the purchase status needed to unlock what you bought, not your full card number. We will update this policy if a paid option changes the information we collect, and the price will be shown before you pay.
Where information is stored, and how we protect it
Signed-in profile and progress are stored in Firebase. Security rules limit those records to the signed-in owner of the account. The connection to the app uses HTTPS.
No way of storing or sending information is perfectly secure. We use reasonable safeguards for a small app, and we avoid collecting information we do not need.
Google and Cloudflare may process information in the United States and in other countries where they operate. Those transfers are part of using their services.
How long we keep information
We keep your account, progress, and saved lessons while the account exists. When you delete your account in the app, or on the delete account page, we delete the Firestore profile, progress, and saved lessons for that account, and we delete the Firebase Authentication user.
No waitlist emails are retained while the waitlist is paused.
Guest progress stored only on your device stays there until you remove it, which you can do by clearing the app’s data or uninstalling the app. We cannot delete on-device guest data for you, because we do not have it.
Your choices
- Use the lessons without an account.
- Sign out at any time from your profile in the app.
- Delete your account from the profile screen, or from the delete account page. Deletion removes the cloud profile, progress, and saved lessons tied to that account, and removes the sign-in.
- Email hello@drivqo.com to ask what information we have, to correct it, or to delete it.
- If you use Google Sign-In, you can also manage the app’s access from your Google account settings.
Depending on where you live, including in the EEA, the United Kingdom, and some US states, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, or to object to certain uses. Write to us and we will honor requests the law requires. You may also complain to a local data-protection authority.
Children
drivqo is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The lessons are general education, not a children’s service. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email hello@drivqo.com and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will also give a notice in the app or on the website. The version on this page is the current one.
